  • The Rabbit CXCL10 (C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 10, also known as IP-10) ELISA is designed for the quantitative measurement of CXCL10 in cell culture supernatants from rabbits and can also be used to measure CXCL10 in a wide variety of biological sample types reported in the literature, including serum, plasma, whole blood, cerebrospinal fluid, synovial fluid, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, and tissue lysates from organs such as liver, spleen, lung, and lymph nodes, supporting a broad range of immunology, inflammation, and translational research applications. CXCL10 is a chemokine primarily produced by monocytes, macrophages, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts in response to interferon-γ stimulation, and it plays a central role in chemoattraction of activated T cells, NK cells, and monocytes, as well as regulation of immune responses during infection and inflammation. In the rabbit model, CXCL10 is widely studied in the context of viral and bacterial infections, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory diseases, where its expression reflects immune cell recruitment and inflammatory signaling. Measurement of CXCL10 provides valuable insight into immune activation, disease progression, and the efficacy of immunomodulatory interventions. Reported measurements of rabbit CXCL10 have detected basal serum and plasma levels of approximately 40-300 pg/mL, with elevated levels-often 350-2,000 pg/mL-following immune stimulation, infection, or inflammatory challenge, and measurable expression has also been observed in tissue lysates from inflamed or immune-activated organs. The kit contains a capture antibody, detection antibody, and recombinant protein standard for assay development, and these antibodies have been validated to function together in an ELISA format using the provided standard. Optimal buffers, antibody concentrations, incubation times, temperatures, and assay conditions have not been predetermined, allowing researchers to optimize assay sensitivity and dynamic range based on their specific sample type and experimental requirements. The quantities of kit components are not matched, and individual components may be purchased separately. This product is for research use only and is manufactured in the USA.

Rabbit CXCL10 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10), also known as IP-10 (Interferon gamma–induced protein 10), is a proinflammatory chemokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family, which also includes CXCL9 (MIG) and CXCL11 (I-TAC) that regulate T-cell recruitment during antiviral and inflammatory immune responses. In rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus), CXCL10 is produced by macrophages, dendritic cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts in response to interferon-γ (IFN-γ), viral infection, or inflammatory cytokines. CXCL10 signals primarily through the chemokine receptor CXCR3, expressed on activated T lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, and other immune cells, promoting chemotaxis and activation of these cells at sites of infection or inflammation. In rabbits, CXCL10 plays an important role in Th1-type immune responses, particularly during viral infections and inflammatory diseases. Rabbits are widely used as animal models for atherosclerosis and vascular inflammation, where CXCL10 contributes to recruitment of CXCR3⁺ T cells and other leukocytes to inflamed vascular tissue, influencing immune-mediated vascular pathology and plaque development. Consequently, rabbit CXCL10 is studied in immunology, cardiovascular disease research, and host–pathogen interaction studies to better understand chemokine-driven immune cell trafficking and inflammatory disease mechanisms.
