- The Dolphin IL-10 (Interleukin-10) ELISA is designed for the quantitative measurement of IL-10 in cell culture supernatants from dolphins (Delphinidae) and can also be used to measure IL-10 in a variety of biological sample types reported in the literature, including serum, plasma, whole blood, and tissue lysates from organs such as spleen, lymph nodes, lung, and liver. While the kit is optimized for cell culture supernatants, minor modifications to the protocol may be required when measuring IL-10 in other sample types to ensure optimal sensitivity and accuracy, allowing researchers to adjust buffers, antibody concentrations, incubation times, temperatures, and other assay conditions as needed. IL-10 is an anti-inflammatory cytokine produced primarily by activated T regulatory cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells and plays a central role in limiting inflammatory responses, maintaining immune homeostasis, and preventing tissue damage during infection or immune activation.
