  • Anti-chicken M-CSF polyclonal antibody (catalog KP1521C) is made in rabbits, affinity-purified by chicken M-CSF affinity chromatography and supplied in PBS containing 0.09% NaN₃; it was raised against recombinant chicken M-CSF (immunogen) and the calculated molecular weight of chicken M-CSF is ~27.2 kDa. Store at 2-8°C (stable up to 12 months from date of receipt). Recommended working concentrations are Western blot 0.1-2 µg/mL and ELISA 1-5 µg/mL (optimize per assay); typical sandwich ELISA reagent pairings and suggested conditions are provided on the datasheet (capture antibody KP1521C; standard protein RP1335C-005; detection antibody KPB1522C; streptavidin-HRP AR0068-001; TMB substrate AR0133-002). In cross-reactivity testing (ELISA) this antibody shows no reactivity to bovine or mouse M-CSF. It is commonly used for ELISA, ELISpot, flow cytometry, neutralization, and Western blot applications (users should validate and optimize conditions for each application). The product is made in the USA, supplied for research applications only, and is not intended for medicinal, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.

Chicken Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is a cytokine that regulates the development, proliferation, and survival of monocytes and macrophages in chickens (Gallus gallus). M-CSF is produced by several cell types, including fibroblasts, epithelial cells, and stromal cells, in response to tissue signals and inflammatory stimuli. Chicken M-CSF binds to the colony-stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF1R), a receptor tyrosine kinase expressed on monocytes and macrophage lineage cells, activating intracellular signaling pathways such as PI3K–AKT, ERK/MAPK, and JAK–STAT that promote differentiation and maintenance of macrophage populations. Through these mechanisms, M-CSF supports macrophage-mediated immune surveillance, phagocytosis, tissue homeostasis, and inflammatory responses. Because macrophages play a key role in host defense, M-CSF–mediated macrophage function is important for maintaining immune health and resistance to infection in poultry. In cell culture, recombinant chicken M-CSF is commonly used to promote differentiation of chicken monocytes into macrophages and to support macrophage proliferation and functional assays in vitro. Chicken M-CSF is also studied in avian immunology and animal model research, including investigations of macrophage responses to important poultry pathogens such as avian influenza virus, Salmonella spp., and Eimeria species.
