  • Zebrafish IL-17A/F1 (Interleukin-17A/F1) (catalog RP1180Z) is a yeast-derived cytokine supplied lyophilized without carrier protein in 10% trehalose; it has no affinity tags and is naturally endotoxin-free, and should be reconstituted in sterile PBS that contains at least 0.1% carrier protein. The protein is ~14.4 kDa, 126 amino acids long (full sequence provided), and >98% pure by SDS-PAGE, with 100% amino-acid homology to zebrafish. Store at -20°C (stable up to twelve months from date of receipt; working aliquots with carrier protein stable ~3 months) and avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Product origin is the USA. It is commonly used to study IL-17 signaling and inflammatory responses (including regulation of cytokine production and immune-cell activation); typical experimental uses include cell-culture stimulation and dosing studies, cytokine signaling assays, ELISA and neutralization assays, flow-cytometry and Western blot controls, and antibody generation/validation. Zebrafish IL-17A (Interleukin-17A) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine belonging to the IL-17 family that plays an important role in host defense and inflammatory responses in zebrafish (Danio rerio). Teleost fish possess IL-17A/F–like genes that share functional similarity with mammalian IL-17A and are expressed by lymphocyte-like cells and innate immune populations in response to microbial infection and immune stimulation. IL-17A in zebrafish acts on epithelial and stromal cells to induce expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and antimicrobial peptides, promoting neutrophil recruitment and enhancing mucosal barrier immunity in gill, gut, and skin tissues. In healthy zebrafish, basal IL-17A expression is generally low but increases during bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections, as well as following experimental inflammatory challenge. In developmental and immunology research, zebrafish IL-17A is widely studied in models of infection, intestinal inflammation, and innate–adaptive immune crosstalk, providing insight into the evolution of Th17-like responses and neutrophil-driven inflammation in vertebrates.
