  • Bovine IL-3 (Interleukin-3) (catalog RP1276B) is a yeast-derived cytokine supplied lyophilized without carrier protein in 10% trehalose; it has no affinity tags and is naturally endotoxin-free, and should be reconstituted in sterile PBS that contains at least 0.1% carrier protein. The protein is ~14.5 kDa, 127 amino acids long (full sequence provided), and >98% pure by SDS-PAGE, with 100% amino-acid homology to cattle and zebu. Store at -20°C (stable up to twelve months from date of receipt; working aliquots with carrier protein stable ~3 months) and avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Product origin is the USA. It is commonly used to study IL-3 signaling and hematopoiesis (including regulation of multipotent hematopoietic cell proliferation and differentiation); typical experimental uses include cell-culture stimulation and differentiation assays, cytokine signaling studies, ELISA and neutralization assays, flow-cytometry and Western blot controls, and antibody generation/validation. Kingfisher Biotech products are supplied for research applications and are not intended for medicinal, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.

  • Bovine interleukin-3 (IL-3) is a hematopoietic growth factor produced primarily by activated T lymphocytes and mast cells that regulates the proliferation, differentiation, and survival of multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cells through signaling via the IL-3 receptor complex (IL-3Rα/CD123 and the common β chain), activating JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K pathways. In cattle, IL-3 supports the development and expansion of myeloid lineage cells-including monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, basophils, eosinophils, and mast cells-thereby influencing innate immune responses, inflammatory regulation, and host defense. In bovine health, IL-3 is relevant to immune responses during respiratory diseases (such as bovine respiratory disease complex), mastitis, parasitic infections, and allergic or hypersensitivity conditions that can impact productivity and herd performance. Dysregulated IL-3 signaling may contribute to excessive inflammation or altered myeloid cell dynamics during infection. Beyond its role in livestock health, bovine IL-3 is valuable in comparative immunology and large-animal research models, supporting studies of hematopoiesis, inflammatory disease mechanisms, and evaluation of immunomodulatory therapeutics relevant to both veterinary and human medicine.
