  • Chicken IL-17B (Interleukin-17B) (catalog RP1892C) is a yeast-derived cytokine supplied lyophilized without carrier protein in 10% trehalose; it has no affinity tags and is naturally endotoxin-free, and should be reconstituted in sterile PBS that contains at least 0.1% carrier protein. The protein is ~17.2 kDa, 153 amino acids long (full sequence provided), and >98% pure by SDS-PAGE, with 100% amino-acid homology to chicken. Store at -20°C (stable up to twelve months from date of receipt; working aliquots with carrier protein stable ~3 months) and avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Product origin is the USA. It is commonly used to study IL-17B signaling and immune responses (including regulation of inflammatory pathways, cytokine signaling, and host defense mechanisms); typical experimental uses include cell-culture stimulation and cytokine assays, signaling studies, ELISA and neutralization assays, flow-cytometry and Western blot controls, and antibody generation/validation. Kingfisher Biotech products are supplied for research applications and are not intended for medicinal, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.

Chicken IL-17B (Interleukin-17B) is a member of the IL-17 cytokine family that contributes to regulation of inflammatory and immune responses in chickens (Gallus gallus). IL-17B is expressed by a variety of cell types, including epithelial cells and immune cells, particularly in response to microbial infection or inflammatory stimulation. Although less characterized than IL-17A, IL-17B is believed to signal through the IL-17RB receptor to modulate production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, thereby influencing heterophil recruitment and mucosal immune responses. In healthy chickens, basal IL-17B expression is generally low but can increase during bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections, as well as following vaccination or immune challenge. In poultry immunology research, chicken IL-17B is of interest for its role in regulating mucosal inflammation, host defense in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, and modulation of Th17-associated pathways. Characterization of IL-17B in chickens provides insight into avian inflammatory signaling networks and immune regulation relevant to disease resistance and vaccine development in commercial poultry systems.
