  • Bovine CXCL6 (C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 6) (catalog RP2246B) is a yeast-derived cytokine supplied lyophilized without carrier protein in 10% trehalose; it contains no affinity tags, is naturally endotoxin-free, and should be reconstituted in sterile PBS with at least 0.1% carrier protein. The protein is ~6.0 kDa, 76 amino acids in length (full sequence provided), and >98% pure by SDS-PAGE, with 100% amino-acid homology to cattle, wild yak, American buffalo, zebu, water buffalo, and carabao. It is stable for up to twelve months at -20 °C from receipt, with working aliquots (with carrier protein) stable for ~3 months; avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The product is manufactured in the USA. It is commonly used to study chemokine-mediated immune responses, particularly neutrophil recruitment, inflammation, and cytokine signaling pathways; typical applications include chemotaxis and cell migration assays, immune cell activation studies, cytokine signaling research, ELISA and neutralization assays, flow cytometry and Western blot controls, and antibody development or validation. Kingfisher Biotech products are supplied for research applications only and are not intended for medicinal, diagnostic, or therapeutic use.

  • Bovine CXCL6 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 6), also known as GCP-2 (granulocyte chemotactic protein 2), is a proinflammatory chemokine belonging to the ELR⁺ CXC chemokine family, which includes CXCL1, CXCL2, CXCL3, and CXCL5 that regulate neutrophil recruitment during inflammatory responses. In cattle (Bos taurus), CXCL6 is produced by macrophages, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts in response to proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNF-α, bacterial infection, or tissue injury. CXCL6 primarily signals through the chemokine receptor CXCR2, expressed on neutrophils and other innate immune cells, promoting chemotaxis, activation, and migration of neutrophils to sites of infection or inflammation. In bovine health, CXCL6 contributes to innate immune defense against bacterial pathogens, particularly in tissues such as the mammary gland and respiratory tract, where rapid neutrophil recruitment is critical for controlling infections associated with mastitis and bovine respiratory disease complex. Because neutrophil-driven inflammatory responses are central to host defense in cattle, bovine CXCL6 is studied in veterinary immunology, mastitis research, and host-pathogen interaction studies to better understand chemokine-mediated neutrophil trafficking and inflammatory signaling in livestock disease.
