  • The Rabbit CXCL3 (Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 3, also known as GROγ) ELISA is designed for the quantitative measurement of CXCL3 in cell culture supernatants from rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and can also be used to measure CXCL3 in a variety of biological sample types reported in the literature, including serum, plasma, whole blood, and tissue lysates from organs such as lung, spleen, liver, and bone marrow. While the kit is optimized for cell culture supernatants, minor modifications to the protocol may be required when measuring CXCL3 in other sample types to ensure optimal sensitivity and accuracy, allowing researchers to adjust buffers, antibody concentrations, incubation times, temperatures, and other assay conditions as needed. CXCL3 is a chemokine primarily produced by activated macrophages, neutrophils, and epithelial cells and plays a central role in neutrophil recruitment, inflammation, and host defense against infection. In the rabbit animal model, CXCL3 is widely studied in the context of inflammatory disease, infection, immune response, and tissue injury, where its expression reflects chemokine-mediated immune activation and neutrophil mobilization. Measurement of CXCL3 provides valuable insight into immune signaling, inflammatory responses, disease progression, and the efficacy of therapeutic interventions, with reported levels in rabbits typically detected at low picogram-per-milliliter concentrations under basal conditions (~10-150 pg/mL in serum or plasma) and increasing during immune challenge, infection, or inflammatory stimulation, depending on sample type and experimental context. The kit contains a capture antibody, detection antibody, and recombinant rabbit CXCL3 protein standard for assay development, and these antibodies have been validated to function together in an ELISA format using the provided standard. The quantities of kit components are not matched, and individual components may be purchased separately. This product is for research use only and is manufactured in the USA.

Rabbit CXCL3 (C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 3), also known as GRO-γ (growth-regulated oncogene gamma), is a proinflammatory chemokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family, which also includes CXCL1 (GRO-α) and CXCL2 (GRO-β) that regulate neutrophil recruitment during inflammatory responses. In rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus), CXCL3 is produced by macrophages, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts in response to proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNF-α, microbial infection, or tissue injury. CXCL3 primarily signals through the chemokine receptor CXCR2, which is expressed on neutrophils and other innate immune cells, promoting chemotaxis, activation, and migration of neutrophils to sites of infection or inflammation. In rabbits, CXCL3 contributes to innate immune defense and regulation of acute inflammatory responses, particularly in tissues such as the skin, lung, and vascular endothelium. Rabbits are commonly used as animal models for inflammatory and cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, where CXCL3-mediated recruitment of neutrophils and other leukocytes to vascular tissues contributes to vascular inflammation and development of atherosclerotic lesions. Consequently, rabbit CXCL3 is studied in immunology and cardiovascular research to better understand chemokine-driven leukocyte recruitment and inflammatory disease mechanisms.
